Hello, beautiful soul!

Welcome to ‘Key’s Keys’- A weekly newsletter written to support you on your spiritual path where I share the things that are helping me transform my life and follow my deepest authentic expression.

This week, I have been contemplating the ways in which we can get caught up in our healing journey so deeply that it can become a prison. I recently read a carousel by @nicocanon_ that explains this with a really unique analogy. He begins by saying that we go to the toilet to get rid of that which our body no longer needs. It is, of course, outside of ‘toilet time’ that life really happens.

Stay with me.

We also aim to heal by releasing all our mind, body and spirit do not need. However, life is what happens outside of our healing work.

One of the greatest traps of modern spirituality and a lot of self help/ self development is that the journey of self help becomes a glorified prison. Instead of using a spiritual path to support us to build capacity and live a better life, it becomes our entire life. (Yes- I have been super guilty of this).

Instead of going to the toilet to do what is needed to come out lighter and ready to live, many get stuck on the toilet.

Always having to…

Heal some more.

Dig out more trauma.

Consume one more book, podcast, or yet another course.

This is fuelled by the feeling of not yet being worthy to receive, because we have forgotten that we are INHERENTLY WORTHY. Meaning, our worthiness to receive love, achieve our dreams, and create an authentic, soul led path paved with abundance is our inherent birthright and does not need to be earned. We may certainly have to work for it to co-create with our Universe, but ‘earning it’ is actually another trap that can keep you looping in old unhealed patterns.

You are not a never ending self development project. You are not broken.

You are an inherently worthy, divine soul living a dualistic experience that was successful in making you forget your power.

You. Are. INCREDIBLE. All parts of you. Your perceived brokenness (shadow) and your stunning light. It’s time to unwind the conditioned belief that you must live your life striving for a perfect version of yourself, and that all good things must be earned and success comes after suffering enough that your ease is finally warranted.

It simply isn’t true.

KEY’S KEY

When we compare ourselves to impossible standards and constantly move the signpost that represents ‘success’, we trap ourselves in a never ending cycle of self betrayal and abandonment that keeps us stuck in the past, or the future, but never fully present in the beauty of our unfolding life. Self help and spiritual work can be profoundly healing but it can only get us to a certain level of wholeness because it is inherently set up for us to fail. It innately reinforces…
