Hello, Beautiful Soul!

The theme of this week’s newsletter is about becoming spiritually aligned- and how to determine what true alignment actually is.

You are likely reading this either ON the solar eclipse (March 29th) or just after it has passed.

I’ll be honest, what came to pass over this 2 weeks between the lunar and solar eclipse portals wasn’t what I anticipated. I had hoped for (was attached to) deep clarity, release, and the incentive/ motivation to step into new versions of myself that have been lurking on the sidelines. I wanted ease form the challenges this year had already brought to me. None of that came to fruition.

Instead, I have been incredibly emotional, sad, and unable to do much of anything except sit in what I have been feeling. It has felt like a dark, deep, confusing depression right alongside consistent feelings of gratitude, optimism, and the incessant commitment to trusting the whole process that is unfolding. Adapting to the changes and honouring myself in the process. I kept showing up.

What I have come to realize is this is actually walking in true spiritual alignment.

Spiritual alignment is not something outside of us that we align ourselves with. It is internal alignment- and this changes day to day, moment to moment. Alignment is not being on a ‘right’ path or feeling good and consistently on purpose, with everything unfolding with ease to make us feel like we are exactly where we need to be. Perhaps this kind of grace can happen to us and we can call it alignment, but it is temporary and fleeting.

True alignment is saying YES to what is, not resisting whatever is in right in front of us. It is being able to hold a new, uncomfortable frequency of expansion and growth when we want comfort and ease. True alignment is watching ourselves choose to carry the energetics of gratitude, trust, and the willingness to step into the unknown as our life crumbles and collapses in front of us. Alignment actually requires a devout awareness of the duality of life. It does not stay static and as a concept is quite illusory at times.

If you feel ‘out’ of alignment- ask yourself these questions:

Am I willing to hold the complexity of multiple states of being at the same time?

Can I be flexible enough to flow in the direction life is leading me, with non attachment at the forefront of my intention to trust it’s unfolding?

Does my clinging prevent things from possibly unfolding in ways I couldn’t have even dreamed of?

Let go. Let God. Let yourself start new things and drum up new energies without attaching meaning to them, and before you know it, you will be leading a whole new life.

KEY’S KEY

“Alignment by definition is ‘arrangement in a straight line’, or ‘a position of agreement or alliance’. It innately defines itself as ordered, neat, and in agreement with others.

But this is not real life.

Life is disordered, messy, and requires a constant evolution in and out of one’s path through varying experiences of joy, pain, and the dissolution of identity.

Let’s redefine alignment (from a spiritual perspective) right here and now:

Alignment is the natural, oscillating patterns in and out of comfort that eventually lead to the unfolding of a life that can only be lived by YOU.

Alignment from a spiritual perspective is an internal commitment to be with what is. To say yes to the unfolding, both when it feels amazing and the path looks straight as an arrow, but also when it gets messy and is anything but linear.

Alignment is an inside job, and cannot be truly reflected by comparing our individual path to the path of another, or one that often society has said it should look like.

What if you are NEVER actually ‘out’ of alignment at all? What a blessed relief that would be.”
